🌱 Start Here: The Big Picture

Parents are already doing so much right, reading bedtime stories, going to the library, encouraging curiosity and learning.

Read In Ten helps turn those everyday moments into real reading growth. It is a simple, science backed approach to early literacy that focuses on the skills kids actually need to learn to read, delivered through short, playful routines you do together. No pressure. No overwhelm. Just ten minutes a day of connection and progress.

Our promise is simple: We will respect your time. We will make reading feel joyful, not stressful. We will focus only on what actually helps kids learn to read.

We promise you will never need to buy more stuff, become a teacher, or guess what your child needs next. If something feels confusing or frustrating, that is on us to fix, not on you to figure out.

You bring your child, your attention, and a library card. We bring the guidance.

Because short, consistent practice works better than long, stressful sessions.

Learning to read is not about pushing through when everyone is tired. Research shows that young children make the biggest gains with brief, focused practice repeated over time.

Think of it like a daily reading vitamin, easy to fit in, easy to repeat, and surprisingly powerful when done consistently. Ten minutes a day adds up to real skill growth without turning reading into a battle.

🎲 What It Feels Like Day to Day

Reading books together is wonderful, and we absolutely encourage it.

Read In Ten focuses on something slightly different. It helps children learn how reading works. That includes noticing sounds in words, connecting sounds to letters, and blending sounds together to read new words.

You will still read together. You will also play sound games and practice skills that help your child become an independent reader. These activities make read aloud time even more meaningful.

Each day you will do one short, playful activity focused on a foundational reading skill. That might include rhyming games, sound hunts, silly blending challenges, or talking about letters while reading.

The activities are designed to feel like play, not lessons. There are no screens for your child and no fancy materials required. It is just you, your kid, a library card, and ten minutes a day.

Very little! Each day follows a simple rhythm. First, you watch a short video, never longer than five minutes and often closer to three.

Some videos include the science and background behind a skill so you understand why it matters. Others are straight to the point and show you exactly what to do with your child.

If you are a parent who wants to understand the research, that content is there. If you want the bare bones and clear examples, we are ready for that too. After the video, you do the activity with your child. That is it.

Read In Ten includes a small set of on demand resources designed to support you in real moments.

One of the most important is a sound library where you can quickly check how letter sounds are pronounced. One of the biggest mistakes we see is parents accidentally using the wrong sounds, which can confuse kids. We make it easy to get it right.

You will also find optional activity ideas for everyday places like the library, the car, or while waiting at a restaurant. These are meant to help you turn idle moments into playful practice without adding work. Everything is supportive, not overwhelming. You can use as much or as little as you want.

🧠 Meeting Your Child Where They Are

Not at all! You do not need training or experience. We break down what actually matters for learning to read and show you exactly how to support it in simple ways.

You bring curiosity, consistency, and connection. We bring the guidance.

Read In Ten is designed for children ages three to six who are starting to notice letters, sounds, and words. It also works well for slightly older children who could use a confidence boost with early reading skills.

Children develop at different rates. The focus is always on meeting your child where they are.

That is great! Knowing letter names is a helpful but not required starting point. We build from wherever your child is, including blending sounds, spelling simple words, and building early fluency.

The activities are flexible so you can adjust up or down depending on what your child needs that day.

Because guessing is frustrating for everyone.

Most reading tools ask parents to figure out what their child is ready for. That often leads to activities that are too easy, too hard, or just not the right fit. When that happens, kids get frustrated and parents lose confidence.

The assessment helps us understand where your child is right now so we can guide you toward activities that are more joyful and less frustrating.

This is not a test your child can pass or fail. It is not about labeling or comparing children. It is simply a way to meet your child where they are. Parents are not educators, you should not have to diagnose your own child. We do that part so you can focus on connection.

❤️ Common Worries, Honest Answers

That is completely normal.

Young children learn best when things feel fun and low pressure. The activities are intentionally short so you can stop while things are still positive.

If a day feels off, it is okay to skip or adjust. Ten minutes is short enough to try again tomorrow.

Read In Ten does not replace school.

Think of it as the bridge between school and home. Teachers introduce and practice skills in the classroom. You reinforce them through connection and repetition at home.

You are not adding more work. You are strengthening what is already happening.

No! There is no kit, box, or pile of materials. You will not be asked to buy special tools or prep lessons.

The primary resources are you, your child, simple guidance, and the books you can access through your local library. That simplicity is intentional.

Once you begin, we help you understand where your child is, show you what to focus on first, and guide you step by step.

After a few weeks, many parents notice their child is confidence growing, and their own confidence growing too. You start to feel it: We can do this!
